New OBD2 Bluetooth Adapter is better than Carista

After using Carista for a few weeks with the app Hybrid Assistant I quickly realized I needed a better OBD2 Bluetooth adapter.

I use both Hybrid Assistance and Dr. Prius, Hybrid Assistant apps specifically state the OBDLink MX+ as one of the better Bluetooth OBD2 adapters for the Toyota Prius and other Toyota Hybrid vehicles. Sure Dr. Prius mentioned having issues pairing with the OBDLink MX+, however, I’ve had no issues on Android with this adapter.

One of the best features of the OBDLink MX+ is the Enhanced OEM Add-Ons as there is one for Toyota, Lexus, and Scion. This add-on offers enhanced diagnostics which I was unable to see/use on the Carista adapter, also while using Hybrid Assistance the speed was very slow to communicate to my tablet.

Toyota Prius Tire Pressure Monitoring

One of the best features on the OBDLink MX+ is the tire pressure monitor readings! You have no idea how many times i’ve been in the cold weather and my tire pressure light come on and I not know which tire is the issue.

After setting up the dashboard, I manually deflated each tire to see which display icon(I had to add one icon for each TPS sensor) lowered to determine which ID belonged to the specific tire.

Overall I am happy to know the tire pressure of each wheel, now when I rotate or get new tires it’ll be fun to make sure each display corresponds to the proper tire.

check out this video I made on why this adapter is what you need versus a lower-priced obd2 device.
