I have been waiting for a Toyota Prius Aluminum Engine Splash Shield for a while, and now the wait is over!
When I first got wind there was a metal engine splash shield for the Toyota Prius or skidplate, I was initially excited and wanted one. After having a look at the part my first brain said “well if I have to change my oil, do I have to remove the whole thing”? Sure enough, you do! Now me, being the traveling man who changes oil in the parking lot of Autozone or local colleges, that’s too much work. The descriptions says install in 30mins but 60seconds to remove for oil change, huh? how? After speaking with a few owners who have one, their regret for purchasing it due to the hassle of removing for oil changes had me hold off on purchasing. Boy, am I glad I waited!

Another thing that struck me as odd with the first skidplate I saw, there were bends in it. The OEM plastic didnt have bends, its a flat part. Why would, nevermind… then the whole notion that a skidplate give you additional ground clearance just seems ludacris to me.
The false claims surrounding the Prius, aftermarket parts and the what the parts do or don’t do is just mind boggling… Who comes up with this stuff? The crazy part, folks believe it! Reminds me of the beginning of covid when renounced Doctors made claims people took as facts when later were revealed to be inaccurate… let that soak in…

Well, here with me… you get no BS or fluff… all I’m saying is this Toyota Prius Engine Splash Shield Skidplate was made with the Prius owner in mind, and also whoever changes their oil. Got to watch out yall, just because something is for sale, doesn’t mean its the best option when its the only one…
