Scanning an automobile roof proved to be a challenge for me until I figured out how to help my lizard track better.
After what feels like months has only been two weeks, scanning more than I’ve slept to perfect the process of 3d scanning using the Lizard.
You don’t need trackers or tape for smaller objects, but for the roof of a car, you will! So far this is what I’ve come up with to track larger images.

Dry Shampoo or Gold Bond Spray Body powder is what I use and the Scotch® Exterior Surface Painter’s Tape 2097 allows the Lizard to properly track in Texture mode.

My advice, you need to scan fast and capture the whole roof in one go then align the detailed scans separately.
