Home » Toyota Prius » Bye Bye Overpriced Batteries: My Journey to Creating the Perfect Prius 12V Battery

That’s right folks, eat your heart out golf cart battery boasters! Suckers. hahaha I kid, I kid

20240315 UPDATE: Mind you, this is just a test to see how well just one cell does, I plan on using multiple cells to make my new 12V batteries. In fact, I plan to use cells from my Plug-in HV battery I have since upgrading to the new Plug-in higher capacity lithium batteries! The goal is two 150ah batteries to replace the two 85ah AGM batteries I currently installed.

Are you tired of constantly shelling out money for expensive batteries for your Prius? Well, I was too. That’s why I decided to take matters into my own hands and build the ultimate Prius 12V powerhouse.

It all started when I realized that the 12V battery in my Prius was not only expensive to replace, but also prone to dying unexpectedly. I was tired of being stranded on the side of the road, waiting for a tow truck and dreading the hefty bill that would follow.

So, I did some research and discovered that there was a way to rev up my savings and ditch those expensive batteries for good. I found out that by installing a deep cycle marine battery and a battery combiner, I could create a more reliable and cost-effective power source for my Prius.

With my trusty toolbox in hand, I got to work. I won’t lie, it wasn’t the easiest task. There were a few moments where I questioned my sanity and my ability to handle electrical wiring. But, with some determination I successfully installed my new temporary power system.

And let me tell you, the results were electrifying. Not only did I save a ton of money by not buying a normal battery, but my Prius now had a more powerful and reliable source of energy. I could run my electronics and accessories without worrying about draining the battery or causing any damage, well more so when I add more cells in combination.

Now, I can confidently take my Prius on long road trips without the fear of being stranded. And the best part? I can use the money I saved on batteries to treat myself to a fancy dinner or a weekend getaway.

So, if you’re tired of constantly replacing expensive batteries for your Prius, I highly recommend revving up your savings and building the ultimate Prius 12V powerhouse. Trust me, your wallet (and your sanity) will thank you. Or… just have one in your car to be used to give you a jump if you ever needed one. 🙂
