There is currently a website circulating in Prius Facebook groups that purports to present a “chronological timeline” concerning a person named Duwayne McClendon. The site can be viewed at DuwayneMcClendon.com.
I became aware of it because the administrator of an Offroad Prius Facebook group chose to publish it to a community devoted to Priuses, while specifically connecting the person discussed on the website with Prius Overlanding and The Black Jimmy Neutron.
That made me curious.
Not angry. Curious.
Because when somebody spends this much time assembling criminal cases, civil disputes, family-law proceedings, child-support matters, business filings, decades-old cases and other information into one webpage, the first question shouldn’t simply be:
“Is there a court document?”
The better questions are:
What does the court document actually say?
What was merely alleged?
What did a judge actually determine?
What was the final disposition of the case?
What information was left out?
And perhaps most importantly:
Why is an administrator of a Prius Facebook group assembling all of this in the first place?
UPDATED: Deep Dive
I investigated the 16 major claims in the timeline.
After going claim by claim, I found every one had been manipulated, overstated, or stated incorrectly in some material way. The pattern was not always fake documents. It was worse in a different way: allegations were treated like findings, arrests were framed like convictions, sentences were blurred with actual time served, and public records were arranged to create a fear-based conclusion that the records themselves did not automatically prove.
A Court Filing Is Not Automatically a Finding of Fact
This is one of the biggest problems with presentations like this.
Someone can file a lawsuit.
Someone can request a temporary restraining order.
Someone can make an allegation in a declaration.
Someone can be arrested.
Someone can be charged.
None of those things, standing alone, establishes that the underlying allegation was proven true.
A responsible timeline has to distinguish between:
- allegations,
- arrests,
- charges,
- temporary court orders,
- judgments,
- dismissals,
- convictions,
- settlements,
- and final case dispositions.
Those words do not mean the same thing.
Yet when dozens of events are placed one after another beneath a person’s name, accompanied by photographs of court documents, an ordinary reader can easily walk away believing that everything written on the page represents something a court conclusively determined to be true.
That is precisely why context matters.

The Final Disposition Matters
One of the items on this website concerns a 2025 criminal case involving allegations concerning a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and other counts.
The website gives its own characterization of what happened procedurally.
But that is exactly the kind of entry that needs to be checked against the complete court docket and ultimate disposition, rather than stopping at an intermediate point in the case.
If charges were subsequently dismissed, say they were dismissed.
If a case went through diversion and was later dismissed, say that.
If allegations were never adjudicated, say that.
The goal of a legitimate public-record timeline should be accuracy, not maximizing the negative impression left with the reader.
I will be publishing the underlying records alongside disputed statements so readers can compare the claims for themselves.
Twenty-Five Years of Records to Settle a Prius Dispute?
Another thing deserves discussion.
The timeline begins in 2000.
Think about that.
We are talking about information approaching three decades old being introduced into present-day discussions involving Priuses, aftermarket parts, videos, products and personalities within the Prius community.
People can make their own judgment about why someone would invest the time necessary to research criminal records, merchant-account disputes, business formations, marriages, separations, child support and family-law proceedings spanning decades in order to discuss someone associated with an off-road Prius.
But I think it is reasonable to ask the question.
What does any of that have to do with whether a Prius spacer works?
People Also Change
There is another principle that gets lost when someone’s life is converted into a collection of docket entries.
People are not frozen at the worst moment somebody can locate in a courthouse database.
Twenty years is a long time.
Twenty-five years is a long time.
A human being can make mistakes, suffer consequences, rebuild, create businesses, learn new skills, raise families, invent things, help people and become someone substantially different from the person described in a decades-old document.
I do not believe our society benefits from pretending rehabilitation is impossible.
But that isn’t even my primary criticism of this website.
My primary criticism is simpler:
If you’re going to publish someone’s history, get it right.
Tell readers when something was merely alleged.
Tell readers when something was dismissed.
Tell readers whether an order was temporary.
Tell readers what the court actually found.
Tell readers the final disposition.
And don’t use the existence of a court document as a substitute for explaining what that document legally represents.
Don’t Take My Word for It Either
This is where I want to be especially clear.
I am not asking anyone to blindly believe me instead.
I don’t want you replacing one person’s Facebook post with another person’s Facebook post.
Look at the records.
Where a statement on DuwayneMcClendon.com can be substantiated, the record should substantiate it.
Where something is inaccurate, the record should expose the error.
Where important context was omitted, the complete docket should reveal the omission.
Where allegations are being presented in a manner that makes them appear to be judicial findings, readers should be able to see that distinction themselves.
That is how this should work.
Not rumor.
Not Facebook-group politics.
Not personalities.
Evidence.
Why I Am Addressing It
When someone chooses to distribute a website like this inside automotive communities where people recognize my vehicles, my work, Prius Overlanding and The Black Jimmy Neutron, ignoring it allows whatever narrative they constructed to become the only narrative people encounter.
So I am not going to ignore it.
I am going to document it.
Over time, I will add the relevant source documents, final dispositions and corrections here so anyone arriving from Facebook, Instagram, Google or anywhere else can examine the evidence for themselves.
There is a useful lesson in all of this:
Being an administrator of a Facebook group does not make someone a journalist.
Publishing a court document does not make someone’s interpretation of it correct.
And putting twenty-five years of selected information onto a professionally formatted webpage does not magically transform editorial choices into objective truth.
Read critically.
Check the underlying record.
And whenever somebody appears extraordinarily invested in destroying another person’s reputation, ask yourself one additional question:
Why?
