My 2013 Toyota Prius plugin with almost 170000 miles was suffering from loss of miles per gallon
Before I put the All Terrain Tires on my Toyota Prius my miles per gallons has significantly gone down. There was a time when I would get over 40 miles per gallon and 4 / 400 miles on a tank of gas.
I use the car’s internal miles per gallon per tank as one metric for calculating MPG. Whenever I get a full tank of gas I reset my trip meter. That way by the time I’m getting gas the next time after the gas light is on I will know how many gallons of gas I put it to my car.
I also use an OBD2 Bluetooth scanner connected to my android tablet that runs a hybrid assistant app. Using hybrid assist I’ve been able to not only view my active miles per gallon but also store historical data on my car’s driving performance. After using many different types of fuel injector cleaners and not one of them making a difference…. I finally found the 1 that did! After having a nice discussion with a Toyota master mechanic about my car, what I want to do to it and so forth he told me to use this stuff here and that will clean out my fuel injectors versus needing to replace them and boy did my MPG improve!
BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner, buy some, use it and contact me to let me know if it worked for you!
