There are two ways that you can utilize to charge a low or dead high-voltage battery in a hybrid.
One method involves completely taking off all OEM harnesses and connectors and using like a balancer cable similar to the one below, along with a smart charger like the b6v3 lipo charger you can charge each cell up and balance them at the same time.

This is it in all glory setup..\

Personally I say get a DC Power Supply Variable, 300V 1A High Voltage Programmable Adjustable Regulated Lab Bench Power Supply.

Or, you can build a Grid Charger… using the components below, you’ll have all you need other than a case to put it all in. Here is a link to my Amazon storefront where you can find links to it all!

With the Grid Charger, you connect to the negative and positive where the HV battery connects to the chassis and you are done. I left the wire attached and simply just connected to the charging box when needed and you don’t have to remove the entire rear end of the Generation 2 Prius to charge it. It is best to have the ceramic fuse closer to the battery, however, since I use mine to connect to other Prius in need, I have the fuse right after the connecter on the wire coming from the charger cuts to the HV battery.
Now… me… the grid charger I am building… will have a WiFi Smart Lithium Battery Capacity Detection Tester DC digital Display Current Voltage Coulomb Power Meter! I need to get the Bluetooth module and will buy another and get the relay module addon, when I first ordered it… the use wasnt for this grid charger, then I thought about it and having the relay to auto disconnect battyery when fully charged would be a nice feature for the grid charger.

It has some pretty cool features like… app wifi remote control
