The Setup
With this setup, I have a Raspberry Pi connected to a 2TB SSD, with an SD card slot ready to pull footage directly from my GoPro, drone, or any other device. The best part? As soon as I insert the SD card, LBB automatically syncs the files to the SSD without deleting anything on the card. It’s a seamless way to ensure I never lose important footage, and all it takes is swapping out an SD card.
For connectivity, the Raspberry Pi connects to my router via Wi-Fi, which I carry in my car for on-the-go access. Since it’s configured with my home Wi-Fi credentials too, I can bring it inside and connect to the same network, letting me access the files from anywhere, wirelessly. It’s the convenience I never knew I needed until I set it up.
Future Plans
The current 2TB SSD has been working flawlessly, but I’m already eyeing an upgrade to accommodate more data. Western Digital recently released a 6TB 2.5-inch drive that would fit perfectly in this setup. I’m planning to upgrade soon, ensuring that I have all the space I need for even the longest trips or multi-day shoots.

Beyond just backup, I’ve added a shucked stream deck to this setup to help with live streaming and automation inside my overlanding Prius. It integrates smoothly with my setup, letting me control streaming options and other automated tasks right from the car.
