So, I built my own AI system—a private assistant that has instant access to every single PDF I’ve ever downloaded for the Prius, including those comprehensive guides.
Here’s the cool part: it’s self-hosted and simply runs out of my own home lab. There’s nothing stored in the cloud, no company mining my queries, and my data stays where it belongs.
A Prius PDF AI On My Phone and Computer
Now, wherever I am—garage, roadside, or at home—I just open Telegram (on my phone or computer), message my AI bot a question, and it answers by searching every PDF I’ve got. Need the fuse box diagram for a 2012? It finds it. Want the AC compressor wiring schematic for a Gen 3? Just ask. Whether it’s details buried in the official shop manuals, a Haynes guide, or any other document, the experience feels like talking to a specialized Prius expert that never sleeps.
What’s Next? AI That Sees What I See
This is just the beginning. My next goal: link my AI to VR goggles and a powerful image model. Imagine if the AI could read and learn from the illustrations in the manuals, not just the text! Then take it a step further—with AR overlays: as I look under the hood, it could sketch arrows, highlight cables, or guide me to the exact connector I need, laid right over my real-time field of vision.
So yeah, someday I’ll be able to ask, “Where’s the brake light relay?” and have the AI draw it onto my goggles, right in my line of sight.
Would Any Prius Owners Use This?
For now, my “Prius service AI” isn’t public; only people in my inner circle have access. But I’m considering letting a few more Prius owners try it, especially those who like to DIY or spend weekend hours tinkering with their car.
